Saturdays and Sundays excepted, along the westerly side of "B" Street between Main Street and 228+ feet southerly of Main Street. BACKGROUND: A request had been received via the City Council from Mrs. E. Panky for a parking restriction along the westerly side of "B" Streeet and adjacent to their residence. This request was initiated du'e to the long term parking of vehicles related to the Steven's Square Office Condominiums. DISCUSSION: As a result of the development of the Steven's Square complex for office use, on-street parking along both sides of "B" Street has increased. During the planning stages of this development, the neighborhood residents expressed concern about the-potential on-street parking that might occur. At that time, staff indicated that any excessive on-street parking problems could be addressed by time limit parking restrictions. The current City traffic code provides for the following'restricted parking intervals: 24-Minute Parking 40-Minute Parking 1-Hour Parking 2-Hour Parking 4-Hour Parking S-Hour Parking 12-Hour Parking REQUEST FOR PARKING RESTRICTION - "B" STREET NOVEMBER 21 , 1983 PAGE 2 It is suggested that a "2-Hour Parking Between the Hours of 6:00 A.M. and 6:00 P.M.", Saturdays and Sundays excepted, be posted along the westerly side of "B" Street and adjacent to the Panky residence. The two hour interval was selected on the basis of practical enforcement. Any time intervals less than the two hour period requires excessive manpower for enforcement resulting in non-effective enforcement and additional cost to the City.
