Proposed Ordinance to Revise City Code, Regarding Extension of Bingo Permits
REcoMMENDAT ION
Introduce Ordinance No. 900; move to Second reading at the meeting of December 21.
DISCUSSION
The License and Permit Board is responsible for the issuance of Bingo permits
and the extension of said permits at the request of applicant. In the majority
of cases a request for extension is a simple matter that takes less than two
minutes to complete. In accordance with the City Code, the full Board is called
to order, hears the request, and acts accordingly. In many instances the re-
quest for extension is the only item heard.
Ordinance No. 900 will allow for administrative review of Bingo extension requests
without the expense of calling for a Board hearing. In the event there is a
problem with an applicant's request, the full Board can then be called to hear
any input that staff or the public may have.
