DECLARATION OF SURPLUS ITEMS
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of November 7, 1983, find that the
five vehicles and one motorcycle, as detailed in this report, are not required for
public use and that they all be declared as surplus items.
BACKGROUND:
Section 1626a (2) of City of Tustin Ordinance No. 871 discusses the disposition of
property and requires the purchasing agent to make a written estimate of the value
of any surplus items not useable by the City or not required for public use.
Further, the City Council must find that these surplus items are no~ required for
public use and after said findin~ the purchasing agent shall have the authority to
sell all such items in accordance with section 1625c and section 1625d, whichever
is applicable.
DISCUSSION:
Staff is proposing to sell five (5) vehicles and one (1) motorcycle at the next
available public auction (Ken Porter Auction). These vehicles are surplus
vehicles which are no longer in use by the City due to routine rotation or
replacement due to accident damage.
