BACKGROUND: Staff has received a request by the Leukemia Society of America to use the portable City stage facility on Saturday, November 12, 1983 for a fund raising event at Cypress College. A copy of this request is attached for your information. DISCUSSION: Due to the request for the use of the stage being out of the City limits, staff is forwarding this request to the City Council for their consideration. As indicated in the letter of request, the Leukemia Society will be responsible for the pick-up and assembly of the stage and its return to the City. Normally, the City is responsible for the delivery and assembly of this facility, which is included with the $50.00 rental fee. In this case, with the stage being utilized out of town, and by a non-profit fund raising society, it is suggested that the fee be waived. No other requests for use of the stage on November 12, 1983 have been received. Director of Public Works/City Engineer bh attch leu(emia society of america, inc.
