ING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN,
CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING,
DECEMBER 22, 1952, AT 7:30 P. M. AT
THE CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, Wintford L. Tadlock,
Wm. I. Miller, Frank E. Bacon, Jr.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Mayor Humeston brought up the matter of the possible pur-
chase of a power saw and presented a letter from a Mr. Woodill
offering to sell a slightly used chain saw to the City. Coun-
cilman Miller read the letter to the Council and stated that
he would ascertain the price asked for same
Street Superintendent Johansen presented a written re-
port on the matter of the tree that fell on Mrs. Means prop-
erty at the N. W. Corner of Main and "B" Streets, listing the
damage caused by the falling tree. Councilman Miller suggested
that Mrs. Means present a list of damages and a claim for same
to City Attorney Nisson. On motion of Councilman Miller, sec-
onded by Councilman Bacon and duly carried, the report was
accepted and filed.
Arthur O. Park was present as Deputy City Clerk and pre-
sented for canvassing the ballots cast relative to the Recall
Election of City Clerk Penington.
City Attorney Nisson presented Resolution No. 326 en-
titled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City of Tustin
Declaring Resultsof the Special Municipal Recall Election
Held on December 16, 1952 which was read by title only by
Attorney Nisson and adopted on motion of Councilman Miller,
seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly carried.
Mayor Humeston announced that an Adjourned Regular Meet-
ing of the Council will be held at 6:45 p. m. on Tuesday even-
ing, December 23, 1952, for the purpose of canvassing the
votes relative to the election to the Council of Jerome C.
Kidd.
Councilman Miller moved to authorize all maintenance
work in Mr. McBride's recommendation of December 5, with the
exception of drainage on North "A" Street, by getting in-
formal bids on the tree work and by a selected contractor
for the cement work, all to be under the supervision of
City Engineer McBride. Seconded by Councilman Bacon the mo-
tion carried.
The matter of a possible change in the City's letter
heads was discussed by the Council, including the possi-
bility of a cut being made when a suitable design is pre-
sented.
Resolution No. 328 entitled "A Resolution Accepting
Grant of Road Easement and Directing that said Grant be
Recorded" was presented and read by title only on motion
of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and
carried.
Resolution No. 328, accepting seven foot road ease-
ment on First Street from Harold W. Finley, was adopted
on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Tadlock
and duly carried.
The City Clerk was instructed to forward Resolution
328 to the County Recorder for the purpose of recording same.
City Attorney Nisson stated that Mr. Gentry, of Gentry's
Cesspool Service, desired that his three lots Nos. 3, 5 and
7, in Block 42, Tract No. 555 be annexed by the City. Mr.
Nisson recommended that Mr. Gentry endeavor to get other prop-
erty owners to Join with him if and when he presents a peti-
tion for annexation. Councilman Miller suggested the desira-
bility of expansion to the South of Mr. Gentry' s property.
Councilman Miller presented his resignation as Alternate
Director to Mayor Humeston on the County Sanitation Board
District No. 7, which was accepted on motion of Councilman
Bacon, seconded by Councilman Tadlock and duly carried.
Mr. Arnold Posade, of Arnold's Patio, 195 "D" Street,
was present and requested that the Police check his place of
business at closing time, or at 11.55 each night.
The following bills were presented, approved and ordered
paid on motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman
Miller and duly carried.

On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman
Tadlock and duly carried, the meeting was adjourned until Tues-
day evening, December 23, 1952, at 6:45 P. M.
