HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 9 RESTRICTED PKG 09-06-83DATE AUGUST 17, 1983 ll~ter-~om TO: sum,JE(;T: WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER REQUEST FOR RESTRICTED PARKING ADJACENT TO PALMWOOD CONDOMINIUMS RECOMMENDATION: That the Tustln City Council, at their meeting of September 6, 1983, authorize the installation of signing to restrict on-street parking during street sweeping hours, 6:00 AM to Noon on Fridays, at 17822-17978 Irvine Blvd. and 401-495 First St. adjacent to the Palmwood Condominiums. It is further recommended that warnings be issued in lieu of citations for the first 30 days after the sign installation. BACKGROUND: A request for restricted parking during street sweeping operations adjacent to 17872-17978 1trine Blvd. and 401-495 First St. has been received from the Palmwood Homeowners Association (copy. attached). DISCUSSION: The proposed parking prohibition Would extend across the frontage on Irvine Blvd. an approximate distance of 500 feet and 250 feet across the frontage on First St. The suggested signing for these streets would read as follows: NO PARKING 6:00 AM TO NOON FRIDAY STREET SWEEPING The City Council has approved several other requests similar to this request and their implementation enables the street sweeper to do a more complete job of sweeping in a lesser amount of time and with fewer hazards of maneuvering around parked cars.
