COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, JULY 21,
1952, AT 7:40 P, M., AT THE CITY
HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: William I. Miller, J. Roy Teter, Frank E.
Bacon, Jr., and William H. Gray.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Vincent L. Humeston.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
INSURANCE The matter of two Insurance Policies Nos. 6199331 and
POLICIES CLP 15273 of the Ohio Casualty Insurance Company as
ACCEPTED presented by the Orange County Insurance Agency was
brought up by Mayor Pro Tem Miller. City Attorney
Nisson recommended the approval of both policies. Upon
motion of Councilman Teter, seconded by Councilman
Gray and duly carried the policies were accepted.
Councilman Bacon stated that one of the new Police
Cars as ordered will probably be delivered this month.
City Attorney Nisson stated that the legality of the
use of Intoximeters is still being checked for a fu-
ture report.
Police Chief States requested that Police Officer
Willlam A. Rubottom be granted two days off on Aug-
ust 1st and 2nd respectively due to the fact that he
worked two extra days for another Police Officer.
Council granted this request.
Approximinately thirty-five persons were present,
including Thomas McMullen. Upon inquiry of Mayor
Pro Tem Miller as to how the Council could serve
them, Mr. McMullen stated that he was present to in-
quire as to the reason for what he understood to be
the proposed resignation of Police Chief Ray E.
States. This inquiry brought on a series of questions
from others present which were answered by members
of the Council. Mr. McMullen then made a verbal at-
tack upon the City Clerk at the conclusion of which
Police Chief States rose from his chair took two
steps and collapsed.
Upon motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Council-
man Teter andsduly carried the meeting was adjourned.
