THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIF-
ORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, JUNE
23, 1952, AT 7:55 P. M., AT THE CIT~
HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, Frank E. Bacon, Jr.,
William I. Miller and William H. Gray
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: J. Roy Teter.
CITYATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Humeston at
7:55 P. M.
Minutes of the meeting of June 16 were read and ap-
proved after a change was made in Paragraph 12 in
which it is now stated that "the first reading of Ord-
inance No. 87 was approved."
Mayor Humeston presented a letter from the Orange
County League of Cities announcing their regular mon-
thly meeting to be held at the Balboa Bay Club, New-
port Beach, on Thursday, June 26th, 1952, at 6:~5 P.
COMMUNITY Mayor Humeston brought up the matter of the applica-
STOCK CO. TO tion of Mae Rose Borum for a license for t he Community
PAY LICENSE Stock Company to hold a series of performances in the
FEE Grammar School Auditorium this summer. After discus-
sion Council ruled that a License Fee should be char-
ged in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No.
87, viz:-$10.00 per quarter.
On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman
Bacon and duly carried, Ordinance No. 87 was read by
title only.
ORDINANCE Ordinance No. 87 was adopted on motion of Councilman
NO. 87 Miller, seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly carried.
ADOPTED When individually polled by Mayor Humeston all mem-
bers of the Council present voted Aye.
A bill from the Tustin Garage in the mount of $129.47,
for repairs to both Police Cars, the same being held
over from the previous meeting, was again presented
after being reduced by the Tustin Garage in the amount
of $2.00. This bill was approved and ordered paid on
motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman
Gray and carried.
COUNCIL TO Police Commissioner Bacon presented a bid from McCoy
PURCHASE Motor Co., of Ariahelm, relative to the purchase of a
SECOND NEW second new Police Car at a price of $612.93 net. Coun-
POLICE CAR cil agreed to purchase a second new Police Car at this
price.
Council ordered that 250 reprints be made of Ordinance
No. 87 after publication in the Tustin News.
Council requested Police Commission Bacon to arrange
for Radio Amplifyers to be installed in both Police
Cars.
Councilman Gray proposed that the Police Commissioner
and City Attorney investigate the legality and pos-
sible advantages of Toximeters for use by the Police
Department and to report at a later meeting.
The meeting was adjourned on motion of Councilman
Miller, seconded by Councilman Bacon and duly car-
ried.
