COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, APRIL 7,
1952, AT .7:30 P. M. AT THE CITY
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, J. Roy Teter, Frank
E. Bacon, Jr,, William H. Gray and William
I. Miller.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT None
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Humeston at
7:30 P. M.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
City Engineer McBride was present and stated that the
city now has $6,000 in street funds, or enough to do
some paving as required.
The matter of curb lines on Prospect Street was brought
up by Mr. McBride. On motion of Councilman Miller,
seconded by Councilman Gray and duly carried, City
Attorney Nisson was requested to write a letter to Mr.
Springer, of the County Highway Department, stating
that the curb lines on Prospect Street were to be set
twenty feet from the center of the street.
Mr. Dave Hoover operatar of Helen's Drive-In Cafe,
was present and submitted a sketch showing car park-
ing arrangements as planned and requested a 28 foot
driveway into the lot. CouncIIman Miller moved that
permission be granted for a driveway not to exceed
29 feet at the curb line with 5-inch thick cement
for driveway approach and sidewalk, conditioned upon
replacing all broken sidewalk on the "C" Street front-
age. Seconded by Councilman Teter the motion carried.
BIDS AWARDED Councilman Miller called for bids on topping and trim-

PROSPECT ST. mitted the only bid which was opened by the City Clerk
and passed over to City Engineer McBride for clarifi-
cation. On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by
Councilman Bacon and duly carried, the bid on the
North nine (9) trees was awardedto the above bidder
on their estimate of $505.00. The bid of $633.00 on
the South eight (8) trees was awarded to the same
bidder on motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by
Councilman Teter and duly carried.
City Auditor H. Louis Hanson, of Hanson & Peterson,
was present and explained to the Council in detail
certain changes and the uses to which various City
funds may be put. Mr. Hanson stated that the City
now has $17,000.00 earmarked for street improvements.
The matter of Business License fees to be collected
from operators of Vending Machines was brought up by
Mayor Humeston. Council agreed to make a decision in
this matter at a later meeting,
Councilman Miller requested a report from Fire Com-
missioner Gray in regard to Fire Department equipment
use schedule in connection with the coming budget
problems.
ARTHUR O. PARK City Attorney Nisson stated that he had arranged with

Councilman Bacon submitted a report of the Police De-
partment outlining their activities for the month of
March.
BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and or-
dered paid on motion of Councilman Teter, seconded
by Councilman Miller and duly carried.
