COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, MARCH
3, 1952, AT 8:30 P. M., AT THE
CITY HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, J. Roy Teter,
William H. Gray and William I. Miller.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: Frank E. Bacon, Jr.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
The meeting was called to order by Mayor Humeston
at 8:30 P. M., immediately following adjournment
of a meeting of the Tustin Planning Commission.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap-
proved.
City Attorney liasen reported that he had attempted
to contact the second highest bidder relative to
trimming, also the removal of certain trees within
the City, but had failed to do so. Councilman Miller
moved that City Attorney Nisson prepare specifica-
tions for bids on work to be performed on the trees
upon receipt of the necessary information regarding
the work from the City Engineer and that bids then
be obtained. Seconded by Councilman Gray the motion
duly carried.
The matter of removal of a walnut tree at the South
East Corner of the Tustin Garage, 6th & "D" Streets,
as requested by Mrs. Stevens was brought up by Mayor
Humeston. Councilman Miller proposed that the City
will remove and dispose of the debris if Mrs. Stevens
will have the tree cut down and into removable sizes.
2 "MEN AT WORK" Council authorized Street Superintendent States to
SIGNS PURCHASED purchase twos"Men at Work Signs" for the use and pro-
tection of Street Department Employees.
Mr. A. J. Posade was present and submitted a blue-
print for a proposed care building to be erected on
the corner of Third & "D" Streets. Mr. Posade re-
quested permission to blacktop out to the existing
pavement and curb line. Council suggested that City
Engineer McBride establish grades relative to the
above upon his return from Sacramento on or about
March 10th.
POLICE REPORT Police Chief Ray E. States presented a report on
FOR FEBRUARY Police activities during the month of February which
PRESENTED was read to the Council by Councilman Gray.
Councilman Miller requested that a barricade and
lantern be placed at the Sandstrom Bel Air Motel due
to irregularities in the curb and the Street Super-
intendent was authorized to purchase reflectors to
be used for that purpose.
Councilman Miller submitted a written proposal of
Hardy & Hrtper to repair and pave the street in
front of the Sandstrom Bel Air Motel. On motion of
Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Teter and
duly carried, the above work was authorized to be
done upon return of City Engineer McBride on or
about March 10th.
ANTIQUE FIRE Council authorized the Fire Department to use the
TRUCK TO BE shed, now used for storage of Street Department
STORED IN material in the rear of the City Hall, as a place
SHED to store the Antique Fire Truck, also the Spray
Rig, and for a door to be placed on same.
A CO-2 FIRE On motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by Council-
EXTINQUISHER man Teter and duly earrie~, it was agreed that a
TO BE PUR- CO-2 Fire Extinguisher be purchased for use of the
CHASED Fire Department.
BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and
ordered paid on motion of Councilman Miller, sec-
onded by Councilman Teter and duly carried.

Councilman MiIler moved to adjourn. CounciIman Teter
seconded the motion. Motion carried.
