TO:
FROH:
SUBJECT:
WILLIAM HUSTON, CITY MANAGER
BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER
MAIN ST. TRAFFIC REPORT
At a previous meeting, the City Council authorized the restriping of Main St.
between Stoneglass and "C" Street as an effort to channelize and reduce, speeds
along Main St. and requested a status report on the results of this work at the
June 20, 1983 Council meeting.
The restriping has been completed; however, there was a delay in completing this
work due to a labor union conflict with the City's striping contractor.
Consequently, the pavement striping has not been in place long enough to evaluate
the results. The Police Department has indicated that enough information should
be available by the end of June, 1983 to properly evaluate the effects of the
re-striping of Main St.
A followup report will be forwarded to the City Council on July 18, 1983.
