HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1951 09 04294 MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, SEPTEMBER 4, 1951, AT 7:30 P.M., AT THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, J. Roy Teter, Frank E. Bacon, Jr., and William H. Gray. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: William I. Miller. CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 7:30 P. M. Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap- proved. Mayor Humeston brought up the matter of the need of a curb on the South side of Third Street, between "C" and "D" Streets. After discussion Council de- cided to take the matter up with City Engineer McBride for his suggestions and recommendation. Council requested City Attorney Nisson to contact Building Inspector George Broomell for for information in regard to a temporary office on skids now being erected at 650 West First Street by Mr. O. V. Dart. RESOLUTION Resolution No. 294 entitled "A Resolution of the City NO. 294 of Tustin Fixing and Determining the Number of Cents ADOPTED on each One hundred ($100.00) Dollars of the Assessed Valuation of the Taxable Property Within the City of Tustin to be Levied and Collected as a Revenue to pay the General Running Expenses of said City During the Fiscal Year 1951-52 , was presented by Attorney Nisson and adopted on motion of Councilman Bacon, seconded by Councilman Teter and duly carried. A. O. PARK Councilman Gray called attention of the Council to AUTHORIZED TO the necessity of numbering the pages of the City's NUMBER TAX Tax Roll to conform to the new County system of Tax ROLL TO CONFORM Recording. On motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by TO COUNTY TAX Councilman Teter and duly carried, the City Clerk ROLL. was authorized to employ Mr. A. O. Park to assist in this work concerning the City Tax Roll. Councilman Bacon stated that several motorists had run into the curb at Rick's Service Station, Corner Mt. View and First Streets, and suggested that the curb be painted white for at least three feet. He stated that Rick, of Rick's Service Station, had agreed to paint the curb if the City would furnish the paint. Council agreed to this arrangement. Council instructed the City Clerk to contact the Southern California Edison Co. and request them to place aluminum strips on their pole in front of the grocery store next to the Service Station. BILLS The following bills were presented, approved, and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Teter, seconded by Councilman Gray and duly carried.
