MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, JULY 2,
1951, AT 7:30 P. M., AT THE CITY
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, J. Roy Teter, Frank
E. Bacon, Jr., William I. Miller and
William H.. Gray.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None
CITYATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present.
Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 7:30
P. M.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap-
proved after correction was made in Paragraph 10
relative to the number of Senate Bill No. 31 which
was incorrectly numbered 813 in the minutes of June
18.
On motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by Councilman
Bacon and duly carried, City Attorney Nisson was in-
structed to forward a letter to Governor Warren sup-
porting Senate Bill No. 1831 and Assembly Bill No.
3414, both bills pertainig to water supply and con-
servation.
Upon suggestion of Councilman Miller a bill from the
Tustin Water Works for rental of 38 Firs Hydrants to
June 30, 1951, in the amount of $213.00, is to be
verified by Fire Chief Lindsay before being paid.
ADDITIONAL Council requested Building Commissioner Teter to se-
BIDS REQUESTED cure additional bids for alteration and addition of
FOR ALTERATION doors to shed in rear of City Hall.
OF SHED
Council agreed that the Fire Hall be designated by
the words FIRE DEPT to be placed over the entrance
and to conform to those now designating the City Hall
and Library. Councilman Teter was requested to secure
an estimate for this project from Paul Bradfield
Sheet Metal Works, of Corona Del Mar, as soon as
possible.
JAMES HARDING Council was informed by Councilman Gray that James
IS NEW JANITOR Harding is substituting for Del Broomell as Janitor
of the City Hall on a trial basis.
10% TO BE Council directed the City Clerk to add 10% penalty
ADDED TO DE- to all Business Licenses remaining unpaid on the
LINQUENT last day of the first month on which the license is
BUSINESS due and payable as provided in Section 10 of Ordin-
LICENSES ance 52.
On motion of Oouncilman Teter the City Clerk was au-
thorized to trade-in the present Adding Machine on
a new ten column hand operated Allen-Wales Adding
Machine. Seconded by Councilman Gray the motion
carried.
Councilman Bacon read a letter from the Orange County
Insurance Agency relative to the recent accident in
which Police Car 651 was involved which stated that
a settlement of claim had been made.
BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and
dered paid on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded
by Councilman Gray and duly carried.

The Council sat as a board of Equalization and on mo-
tion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Teter
and duly carried the meeting was adjourned until 10 A,
M,, Tuesday, July 3, 1951.
