MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, JUNE 18,
1951, AT 8:45 P. M., AT THE CITY
HALL
COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, Frank E. Bacon, Jr.,
William I. Miller and William H. Gray.
COUNCILMEN ABSENT: J. Roy Teter.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arther Nisson, Jr., was present.
Meeting was called to order by Mayor Humeston at
8:45 P. M. A meeting of the Planning Commission
having been held in the CounciI Chambers earlier.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and ap-
proved.
After some discussion regarding the entty of a
float in the 4th of July Parade at Huntington Beach,
it was decided that the Fire Department should be
contacted to see if they wated to enter the old
Fire Truck in the parade. Contact was made with H.
Louis Hanson and he informed the City Clerk that
plans had been made to enter the truck and that all
details would be taken care of.
Mayor Humeston suggested that it be left to the dis-
cretion of Chief of Police McMullen as to whether he
attended a one day Traffic School, conducted by the
University of California, in Los Angeles, on June
21, 1951.
It was also suggested that anyone wanting to make
the tour of inspection arraged by the Orange County
Water District on June 30, 1951, to contact Coucil-
man Gray.
After some discussion regarding the bid filed by W.
H. Bowman on altering the shed at the rear of the City
Hall it was decided to table the matter for the present.
Councilman Gray reported that Orage County would be
designated Area X, of Region 9, in the Civil Defense
setup. Also that a meeting would be held Tuesday
evening, June 19, at the Grammar School Auditorim.

front of the building.
RESOLUTION NO Resolution No. 289 entitled "A Resolution of the City
289 AD0PTED Council of the City of Tustin Extending the Limits of
Central Traffic District "C" was presented and adopt-
ed on motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by Council-
man Bacon ad duly carried.
On motion of Councilman Gray, seconded by Councilman
Bacon and duly carried, City Attorney Nisson was in-
structed to send a telegram to State Representatives
Collins and Stanley, as follows: -Tustin City Council
unanimously urges your support of S. B. 1831", to be
signed by the Mayor and all Councilmen.
On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Council-
man Gray and duly carried, the American Legion Post
No. 227, of Tustin, is to be granted a License to
operate a Fireworks Stand for seven days beginning
Friday, June 29, 1951, subject to proper inspection
by the Police and Fire Depstments.

Councilman Gray moved to adjourn. Motion seconded by
Councilman Bacon and carried.
