AUTHORIZATION TO ADVERTISE FOR FURNISHING ONLY OF 96" RCP STORM DRAIN
PIPE FOR MOULTON PARKWAY FAU PROJECT M-M032(O04)
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of March 21, 1983, adopt
the attached resolution approving plans and specifications for subject work and
direct the City Clerk to advertise for bids.
BACKGROUND:
This project encompasses the manufacturing and delivering to the site of a short
segment of the storm drain pipe required for the Moulton Parkway FAU project under
the Peters Canyon channel bridge crossing. Due to the short time frame involved
for the bridge construction, it is imperati-ve that the contractor for the Moulton
Parkway project have the pipe on hand, so that he can immediately lay the pipe
which will enable him to begin construction of the bridge. Since the pipe takes
about 6.weeks to'manufacture, by having the City order the pipe ahead of time, a
six week.delay is eliminated.
The estimate for furnishing and delivering 114 lin.' ft. 6f 96" storm drai-n pipe is
$16,700.00. This cost will be reimbursable under the FAU project.
