FAU PROJECT M-M023(2) RECOMMENDATION: · t is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of March 7, 1983, adopt the attached resolution accepting said work and authorizing the recordation of the Notice of Completion. Assuming no claims or stop payment notices are filed and that the contractor meets all the Labor Compliance requirements of the contract, it is further recommended that 30 days after the date of recordation of the Notice of Completion, that the Council authorize payment of the final i0~ retention amount of $78,975.40). This amount together with previous payments of $710, 778.55 represents 1004 of the final .contract amount. BACKGROUND~ .This.project encompassed work on Irvine Blvd,'between Yorba S~reet and Red 'Hill Avenue as follows: (I) Replace all existing traffic signals with new signals (2) New traffic signal at "B" Street (3) New traffic signal at Fashion Lane (4) Interconnect all traffic signals with hard wire underground conduit (5) Pave existing island necks between Yorba and Prospect with stamped concrete (6) Construct landscaped medians with stamped concrete between Prospect and Newport (7) Heater Remix existing pavement and construct rubberized asphalt concrete overlay between Prospect and Newport The work has been completed to the satisfaction of the Engineering Division. Because this project involves Federal funds, the final 10~ retention payment is subject to auditing of the contractor's Labor Compliance records before the payment can be made. The preliminary contract amount based on estimated quantities was $779,839.19. In addition, the Council authorized adding to the contract the paving of the median necks between Yorba and Prospect in the amount of $9,454.00 for a total preliminary contract amount of $789,753.95 for a cost over-run on the project of $460.76 or 1/16 of 14. WICK ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER db cc: City Clerk Finance Director Street Maintenance Supt. 1 RESOLUTION NO. 83-21 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN ACCEPTING WORKS OF IMPROVEMENT AND AUTHORIZING RECORDATION OF NOTICE OF COMPLETION 6 WHEREAS, Grissom & Johnson Inc., having a contract with the 7 City of Tustin to construct the hereinafter described public work and improvement; and 8 WHEREAS, the City Engineer has duly certified to the 9 construction and completion of said public improvements hereinafter mentioned in a manner satisfactory to the City 10 Council of the City of Tustin; and 11 WHEREAS, the City Council finds that said contractor has completed said public improvement hereinafter more particularly 12 described in accordance with the provisions of the contract documents and the notice of completion and acceptance of said 13 public work and improvement should be filed and payment of the balance due said contract authorized in accordance with the 14 contra~t documents% 15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOL'VED 'by the City Council of 'the City 'of Tustin that said pubic work and impr.ovement be, and the 18 same is hereby accepted. Said public work and improvement is more particularly described as follows: 17 IRVINE BLVD. FAU PROJECT M-M023(2) 18 AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer of the 19 City of Tustin be, and is hereby authorized to execute and file a notice of completion and acceptance of said public work and 20 improvement described herein as required by law. 21 22 PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Tustin on 1983. 23 24 25 26 ATTEST: MAYOR 27 28 CITY CLERK
