SIDEWALK INSTALLATION - PACIFIC STREET
RECOMMENDATION:
Pleasure of the City Council.
BACKGROUND:
On December 14, 1982, seven survey letters were sent to the
property owners at the following addresses along Pacific Street:
205 250
245 256
255 260
2.65
These properties are the only parcels along Pacific St. that do
not have sidewalks.
DISCUSSION:
Responses were received from five of the seven survey letters as
follows:
one in favor of sidewalks
four not in favor of sidewalks
All parties responding were owners/residents, while the two
non-responding parties were absentee owners.
Additional comments from two of the parties not in favor of
sidewalks are as follows:
1. Without knowledge of any specifics, we oppose the
sidewalk.
2. My house is so close to the street and easement that
a sidewalk would practically be up to my front porch.
If desired, staff could proceed with the field survey work to
determine a location for the-sidewalk so as to have the least
impact to the adjoining residences, trees, and landscaping. At
that time, the plans could be reviewed with each owner to provide
more specific information with respect to the impacts on their
properties.
