PURCHASE OF TWO-WAY RADIOS FOR WATER DEPARTMENT
RECOMMENDATION:
Request the City Council to authorize purchase of radios and
accessory equipment as needed from ICS Communications for the bid
price of $11,131.06.
BACKGROUND:
The purchase of ten (10) two-way radios for Water Services with
conversion to existing City system was approved in the 82-83
fiscal budget. A Request for Proposal was mailed to four (4)
vendors and a pre-bid meet'ing was held January 4, 1983. Two bids
were submitted (one vendor not replying and two vendors merging
to submit only one bid). ICS Communications was low bid (bid
recap attached).
Dependent on existing telephone lines, the control conversion may
not be necessary, thus reducing the bid by $280.85 including tax.
