IRVINE BLVD. FA~ PROJECT M-M023(2)
REQUEST FOR TIME EXTENSION
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of
January 3, 1983, grant the contractor on subject project a time
extension of 30 calendar days to complete the project.
BACKGROUND:
Grissom & Johnson Inc. has requested a time extension on subject
project due to delays in' material delivery which are beyond his
control as indicated in the attached correspondence. This seems
to be a common problem on traffic signal projects in that the
equipment manufacturers never seem to be able to meet their
delivery dates.
The present completion date for the project is Dec. 31, 1982.
The 3o calendar day extension will put the new completion date at
Jan. 30, 1983 (plus any rain or bad weather days which may
Occur),

Dear Fred,
The order for seven of our Model M133 Traffic Signals is scheduled
to arrive at your shop by the end of December.
I apologize for the delay, and realize that your order has been in
for over sixty days.
As you know, we are deleting the Model M133 from our product line,
and consequently this order has been filled with some difficulty.
Please give me a call if you need additional information.
Warmest personal regards,
