FA~ PROJECT M-M023(2) REQUEST FOR TIME EXTENSION RECOMMENDATION: It is recommended that the City Council, at their meeting of January 3, 1983, grant the contractor on subject project a time extension of 30 calendar days to complete the project. BACKGROUND: Grissom & Johnson Inc. has requested a time extension on subject project due to delays in' material delivery which are beyond his control as indicated in the attached correspondence. This seems to be a common problem on traffic signal projects in that the equipment manufacturers never seem to be able to meet their delivery dates. The present completion date for the project is Dec. 31, 1982. The 3o calendar day extension will put the new completion date at Jan. 30, 1983 (plus any rain or bad weather days which may Occur), ASSISTANT CITY ENGINEER db Los Angeles Branc, 6023 South Garfield Avenue Los Angeles, California 90040 213/726 63O0 November 29, 1982 GR!$SOM & jOHNSON, iNC.
