MA~, USMC WHEREAS, Colonel B~NNIE H. ~ on December 23, 1981 will relinquish ___.¢on~_m_m_m_m_mm~ of the MCAS (H) Tustin and will retire frc~ the U.S. Marine Corps cn January 1, 1982 after a distinguished career spanning 31 years of service to God, Country and C~,munity; and WHEREAS, Colonel Mann as Commanding Officer of MCAS (H) has demonstrated his humanitarianism and concern for others by his personal support and participation in activities related to the welfare of all segments of society including Navy Relief, Boy Scouts of America, institutions of homeless children, aid to the blind, famil~ assistance to military personnel and their dependents, and senior citizen activities; and WHEREAS, Bennie Mann has been a friend to all - generously contributing his t/me and talent to u~i,~nity organizations ar~ activities, and inviting the coamunity to share in the activities of the military base; WHEREAS, Colonel Mann has exemplified the highest standards of colm~Lnity relations by building a bond between the City of Tustin and MCAS (H) whereby they are a unified entity pledged to the mutual support of each other to assure that the City is a most desirable place to live and that MCAS (H) is a most desirable duty assignment; and WHEREAS, Colonel Mann's participatico and relationship .with the total community reflects pride upon himself and credit to the military forces of the United States; NOW THEREFORe, BE IT RESC~VED, that the City Council of the City of Tustin does hereby offer its commendation and appreciation to Colonel B~NIE H. MA~, cn the occasion of the change of cc~,,,~%nd and his retirement from active duty, for a job well done, along with best wishes for a long and happy life of continued service to the c~,,,-~nity.
