BACKGRfL%~: Subject project encc~passes replacing the existing failing aslahalt concrete bike trail berm curb. o~ Newport Avenue between Main St. and Irvine Blvd. with Portland cement concrete curb. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $13,500.00. There is presently $22,000.00 in RDA funds budgeted for this work. AC Berm Curb L.F. 2019 Furnish & Construct New PCC Berm Curb L.F. 2039 A-1 1 2 3' 4~ 7 8 10 11 12 14 17 18 20 21 22 24 2§ 2~ 27 The foregoing quantities are a~2roximate only, being given as a basis for the c~arison of bids, and the City of Tustin does not, expressly or by implication, agree that the actual amount of work will correspond therewith, but reserves the right to increase or decrease the amo/nt of any class or portion of the work or to onit portions of the work as my be deemed necessary or advisable by the Engineer. P3ans, specifications and ~ro~osal for~ to ~e u~e~ for bidding on this project can only be obtained by prospective bidders at the office of the City Clerk, Tustin City Hall, 300 Centennial Way, Tustin, California, 92680, upon payment of $5.00 per set, which a~ount shall be non-refun~_~ble. Plans and specifications will be mailed out upon payment of $10.00 per set, which amount shall be non-refun~hle. In conformance with Section 37931 of the Governmant Code, all bids shall be presented under sealed cover on the proposal fora provided and acu~,~anied by one of the following forms of bidder's security: a. Cash b. Cashier's check made payable to the City of Tustin. c. Certified check made pa~able to the City of Tustin. d. Bidder's bond executed by an accredited surety insurer, made payable to the City of Tustin. The security shall be in an ~t equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the amount of the bid. A bid shall not be o~-~idered unless c~e of the forms of bidder's security is e~closed therewith. · A Security Bond for payment of labor and materials will be required in the amount of fifty percent (50%) of the est/mated total cc~tract price and a Faithful Performance Bo~d in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the estimated total contract price in the form attached to the contract documents. Said bonds shall be issued by a Surety Ccmlpany rated grade A or better and Class IX or better by the latest edition of Best's Key Rating Guide. City of Tustin reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and/or waive any info~mality on a bid. No bidder my withdraw his bid for a period of thirty (30) days after the date set for the opening thereof. The contract will be awarded to the lowest qualified bidder. Provisions of the State Contract ACt are not applicable, and prospective bidders will not be required to be prequalified. All work to be paid for at the unit prices bid frcm appropriated monies. 28 A-2 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 16 17 18 19 2O 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 The Tustin Cc~munity Redevelopment Agency has obtained frcm~ the Director of Industrial Relations the general prevailing rate of per diem wages and the general prevailing rate for legal holiday and overtime work in the locality in which the work is to be performu~ for each craft or type of work needed and a copy of the ssme is on file in the office of the Agency Secretary. Not less than said prevailing rates shall be paid to workers employed on this public works contract as required by Labor Code Sections 1771 and 1774 of the State of California.
