11-2-81
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA,
REQUESTING THE COMMENCEMENT OF PROCEEDINGS FOR THE ANNEXATION OF
UNINHABITED TERRITORY KNOWN AS NEWPORT/VANDERLIP ANNEXATION NO. 129
TO THE CITY OF TUSTIN.
WHEREAS, a request has been received from majority of the property
owners abutting the City limits on the west side of Newport Avenue
southerly of 17th Street to have their properties annexed to the City
of Tustin, and
WHEREAS, this request is made in the interest of receiving the services
of the City and to establish a city identity, and
WHEREAS, said annexation proposed is a Class 19 Categorical Exemption
from the requirements of an Environmental Impact Report,
NOW THEREFORE BIT IT RESOLVED by the City Council of Tustin,
California:
1. That the Local Agency Formation Commission is hereby petitioned
to initiate change of organization proceedings pursuant to Chapter
2, Article 1 of the Municipal Organization Act of 1977.
2. Said territo~ consists of properties fronting on the westerly
side of Newport Avenue contiguous to the existing City limits and
southerly of 17th Street.
3. The annexation proposed is submitted by the City Council of the
City of Tustin on behalf of 13 property owners who desire City
services and identity with the City.
4. That said proposal is submitted as an uninhabited annexation
for territory containing less than 12 registered votes
PASSED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the City Council of Tustin,
California, held on the 2nd day of November, 1981.
