FUkW:ls Attachments Tustin Tiller Street Faire Report: I feel very good about Tustin Tiller Days S~reet Faire. For the first time I feel we had City Wide Participation. I estimate that over the three days we had approximately 6000 to 10,000 attend the Faire. Talking with my committee and the City I feel that a lot of things can be improved. First we definitely need all calls and mail to go directl~ To the City to be screened and then given over to the committee, a ~erson from the City needs to go to the different departments to make sure permits are gotten at the right time and done properly. If this is done then my co~nittee feels a volunteer can be the head of the Committee.. We will need to either change the location of the Street Faire or will need additional funds to get better lighting, and electrical outlets for the booths themselves. ( Columbus Tustin Intermediate School was suggested for the location.) We also feel that the Jaycee's are not doing and adequate job on the parade. We get all the calls and complaints. At this time we would like to have, you consider that the Parade and Street Faire be under one head. ( The committee would consider taking it on.) In December a meeting will be held to form a tentative Budget and the committee to bring to you for a~proval. At that t±~e we will be able to give you some ideas for next year and how we would like to run it. At that time we will include a se~erate budget on the parade if you would tike to consider it to be run by the committee. If you will look at the Budget Report you can see that it costs quite a lot to put the Street Faire on, and next year it will probably cost more.. I would like to see the Street Faire ke~t as a community project and not get to biR. The only way I can see for us to make money is to bring in a big Carnival, charge admission and I don't recommeded that. When we started the Street Faire this is what we did not want. We feel it brings in the wr~ng kinds of people. My recommendation is that the City Council advance funds and we do are best to at least give some of those funds back to the city. I would like ~o say that ail the individual booths did make money, and I would say most of them want to be back next year. I would Like to read a couple of letters ~hat I have received.
