HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1950 08 21 MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING, AUGUST 21, 1950, AT 8:15 P. M., AT THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, William I. Miller, J. Roy Teter, Frank E. Bacon, Jr., and William H. Gray, COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 8:15 Minutes of the proceeding meeting were read and ap- proved after an addition was made to the wording of paragraph 8 in which it is now stated that the bid of Charles F. Fletcher in the mount of $120.00, "with curb figured at $1.50 per foot and sidewalk at 25 ¢ per square foot for improvement to the curb and sidewalk in front of the CityHall. TUSTIN WATER Mayor Humeston presented an Application for Rate WORKS RATE Increase by the Tustin Water Works. On motion of INCREASE Councilman Teter, seconded by Councilman Gray and duly carried, the application was approved and City Attorney Nisson was instructed to render whatever assistance may be necessay in the matter. A letter from City Attorney Nisson approving the policies of the Orange County Farmers Mutual In- surance Co., as listed therein, was read by Mayor Humeston. Police Chief McMullen stated that a demonstration of the Resusciator, now being considered for pur- chase by the Council, will take place in the City Hall on Monday evening, August 28, and that Blount will be present at the demonstration. Councilman Miller moved that Councilman Bacon com- pile the necessary data to make a report on Conser- vation, Planning and Public Works as requested by the Assembly Interim Committee of the California State Legislature. Seconded by Councilman Teter the motion carried. HARDY & HARPER On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Council- TO BLACKTOP man Bacon and carried, the bid of Contractors Hardy CITY HALL & Harper of $125.00 for furnishing labor, arsenic YARD AND and equipments for blacktopping to the depth of three DRIVEWAY inches the rear yard and side driveway of the City Hall was accepted. The City to furnish all material other than the arsenic. RESOLUTION Councilman Miller moved that Resolution No. 268 en- NO. 268 titled "A Resolution of the City Council of the City ADOPTED of Tustin Fixing and Determining the Amount of Money Necessary to be Raised by Taxation upon the Taxable Property Within the City of Tustin as Revenue to Carry on the Various Departments of said City for the fiscal Year 1950-51." Seconded by Councilman Teter and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 268 was adopted. The following bills were presented, apprcved, and dared paid on motion of Councilmma Miller, seconded by Councilman Teter and duly carried. Seaside Oil Co. 81.18 Lois Folkner 6.50 Associated Chambers of Commerce 8.00 Petty Cash Account 38.63 TOTAL $565.19 JOHN A. HASKELL On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman SALARY Teter and duly carried, the salary of John A. Haskell, INCREASED Crossing Guard and Street Department employee, was in- creased from $100.00 to $110.00 per month, effective September 1, 1950. Councilman Miller moved to adjourn.
