Motion carried 5-0 · BID A~A~D ~C SIGNAL DESIGN SERVICES - EL CA~O I~EAL/SIXTH ST~W~T Bids for the engineering design of a traffic signal at the intersection of E1 Camino Real and Sixth Street were solicited and received as follows: M.P.A., Inc., Fullerton Berryman & Stephenson, Inc., Anaheim Greet and Company, Anaheim Herman Kimmel & Assoc., Inc., Newport Beach $1,77~.00 $1,800.00 $1,900.00 $2,400.00 As recommended in the m-~ dated September 28, 1981, prepared by the City Engineer, it was moved by Edgar, seconded by Kennedy, to award the bid for engineering design services for E1 Camino Real/Sixth Street traffic signal design to the firm of M.P.A., Inc., Fullerton, for a fee of $1,775.00 and authorize a supplemental appropriation of this amount to the ~981-82 Rede- velopment Agency Capital Improvement Program. Carried 5-0. 5o APPI~OVAL OF DE~ANDS It was moved by Edgar, seconded by Kennedy, to approve General Demands for the months of June and August, 1981, in the amount of $701,599.86 as recommended by the Finance Director. Motion carried 5-0. 6. A~qCY COI~C~S - VARXO~'S ag The motion by Edgar, seconded by Sharp, was withdrawn to direct staff to pursue acquisition and private development of the Utt property, located between Main and Third Streets, one-half' block west of Pros- pect. Following Council/staff discussion, it was determined that the October 26 workshop would provide a good .opportunity to discuss this possibility and other alternatives, and allow for public participa- tion. be The Chairman called attention to an article in the "Register" morning edition pertaining to efforts by the City of Santa Ana to revitalize the city through redevelopment resources. He requested that the article be duplicated and distributed to Agency members.
