HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC 6 SPECIAL SAL ADJ'S 10-21-81OATE: Oc~r' 14~ 1981 CONSENT CALENDAR No. 6  1Q~21~81 Inter - C om FROM: SUBJECT: HONORABLE MAYCR AND CITY COUNCIL WILLIAM HUSTCN, CITY MANAGER SPECIAL SALARY AD3USTMENTS It is reconz~ended that the City Oouncil authorize the following special salary adjustments. ge e Maintenance Worker, Kenny Schultz Range: $t137 to $1524 Step D, $1316 to Step F, $1451 Maintenance Worker, Fred Luna Range: $1137 to $1524 Step B, $1194 to Step D, $1316 ~ulministrative Secretary, Donna Treat Range: $1333 to $1620 Step B, $1399 to Step D, $1543 DISCUSSION: The City Persorunel ~ules and Regulations provide that upon reco~m~enda~of a Department Head and approval of the City Manager the City ODuncil my- authorize special salary adjustments. A special salary adjustment is made when an employee's salary is increased tM steps in lieu of the normal one step at the time their performance evaluation is made. A special salary adjustment can be made where it is determined that an employee's performance has been outstanding or to correct any inequities that may exist. With regard to Messrs. SchUltz and Luna, the Maintenance Superintendent and Director of Public Works have indicated that their performance has been outstanding. In the case of both individuals, they possess ar~ have applied on the job skills which are not nornmlly required of a Maintenance Worker and have voluntarily performed tasks which require utilization .of those skills.' In addition, these individuals have demonstrated very positive attitudes toward their job supervisors and fellow employees. Over the past several months, Ms. Treat has assumed greater responsibility within the City Manager's office and will o~ntinue to cb so as a result of the elimination of the Administrative Aide position ar~ due to the vacancy of the Administrative Assistant position. At this point, there is no plan to fill the vacant J~]ministrative Assistant position.
