HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1950 07 17 MINUTES OF A MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA, HELD ON MONDAY EVENING JULY 17, 1950, AT 8:45 P. M., AT THE CITY HALL COUNCILMEN PRESENT: Vincent L. Humeston, WilIiam I. Miller, J. Roy Teter, Frank E..Bacon, Jr., and William H. Gray. COUNCILMEN ABSENT: None CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr., was present. Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at 8:45 P. M., immediately,after adjournment of the meet- ing of the Tustin Planning Commission. Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and approved. Mayor Humeston inquired as to results or the meet- ing of the Planntng Commission relative to the pro- posed sub-division of Hugh C. Marshall at First and Prospect or "E" Streets. Chairman MilIer stated that the matter stood as before due to the fact that no one from Mr. Marshall's organization ap- peared to request any changes. The matter of insurance was brought up by Mayor Humeston. On motion of Councilman Teter, seconded by Councilman Miller and duly carried it was agreed to reinsure the City Hall building for $25,000 and the Fire Hose for $1,000, covering fire and ex- tended coverage, with the Orange County Farmers Mutual Insurance Co. Police Chief McMullen reported on the Northrup Trailer situation and was instructed by the Council to enforce the Trailer Ordinance in this instance. RESOLUTION Attorney Nisson presented Resolution No. 267 en- NO. 267 titled "Resolution of the City Council of the City ADOPTED of Tustin, California, Approving Agreement for Maintenance of State Highway in the City of Tustin." On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Council- man Teter and unanimously carried, Resolution No. 267 was adopted and the Mayor and City Clerk were authorized to sign the same. Mayor Humeston outlined to the Council the present status of Sanitation District affairs and read a letter from Mr. Vinton W. Bacon relative to the subject. CONTRACTOR Councilman Miller moved, seconded by Councilman SALTER PAID Gray and duly carried, that Contractor Sherman E. IN FULL Salter be paid the balance of $2,000 due him on his contract for building the City Hall. STREET DEPT. On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Council- PAY INCREASES man Gray and carried, the salary of O. C. Phillips was increased from $195.00 per month to $210.00 per month and the salary of Dwayne A. Phillips was in- creased from $185.00 per month to $200.00 per month, retroactive to July 15, 1950. BILLS The following bills were presented, approved, and ordered paid on motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Gray and carried. 239 Thomas McMullen (Overtime) $93.60 Edward R.
