AWARD OF BID - TRAFFIC SIGNAL DESIGN SERVICES

That the Tustin CuL,L~nity Redevelopment Agency, at their meeting of October 5,
1981, award the bid for engineering design services for E1 Camino Real/Sixth St.
traffic signal design to the firm of M.P.A., Inc., of Fullerton for a fee of
$1,775.00 and authorize a supplemental appropriation of this 8~ount to the 1981-82
Redevelopment Agency Capital Improvement Progr~.
BACKGROUND:
At their September 8, 1981 meeting, the City Council directed staff to proceed
with the design and installation of a traffic signal at the intersection of E1
Camino Real and Sixth Street. Bids for the engineering design of this signal were
solicited and received as follows:
M.P.A., Inc.
Berryman and Stephenson, Inc.
Greer and Co.
Herman K~.~u,~l & Assoc., Inc.
Fullerton $1,775.00
Anaheim 1,800.00
Anaheim 1,900.00
Newport Bead~ 2,400.00
It appears that the enginccring design for this traffic signal will take
approximately four weeks whid~ oould result in the following tentative project
schedule:
R.D.A. Award of Bid for Engineering Design Services . . . OCt. 5, 1981
R.D.A. Authorization to Advertise for Construction Bids . Nov. 16, 1981
R.D.A. Award of Bid ................... Dec. 21, 1981
C~,~m~ence Construction ................. Jan. 4, 1982
FISCAL IMPACT:
This is not a budgeted item1 within the 1981-82 Tustin C~';u,',Gnity Redevelo~a,ent
Agency Budget and will require a supplemental appropriation in the smount of
$1,775.00.
