SUBJECT: MOTORCYCLE TRAINING FROM THE CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL
RECOMMENDATION:
Council adopt the attached Resolution giving the Chie~ of Police
authorization to sign California Highway Patrol Academy Training Agreement.
BACKGROUND:
During the next several months we will be sending two of our Officers to the
California Highway Patrol MotorCycle Training Academy. The State of
California requires written training agreements from any Department
participating in their program. Consequently, they need to have Council
approval authorizing the Chief Of Police to sign their training agreement.
This same process has been usedion the past three agreements with the State
of California for motorcycle training.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None, cost of training is P.O.S~T. reimbursable.

RESOLUTION NO. 81-112
A RESOLUTION OF ~HE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN
AUTHORIZING AGREEMENTS BETWEEN THE POLICE DEPARTMENT OF
THE CITY OF TUST~N AND THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA, DEPARTMENT
OF CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY PATROL
WHEREAS the State of California, Department of California Highway
Patrol requires written training agreements from any agency participating in
training programs at their Academy; and
WHEREAS the Police Department of the City of Tustin desires from
time to time to participate in certain training programs sponsored and admin-
istered by the Department oflCalifornia Highway Patrol,
NOW THEREFORE, be it resolved by the City Council that the Chief of
Police is hereby authorized and directed to sign such training agreements.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the City Council of the City of Tustin at a
regular meeting held on the 5th day of October, 1981.
