Corporation in the amount of $73,039.30 as recommended by the Maintenance Superintendent. BACKGROUND: Bids for the replacement of a 1970 broom type sweeper were solicited and received as shown on Hugh West's memo of 9-28-81. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This new sweeper is a replacement unit and funds are available in the Equipment Leasing Fund for this purchase. There will be no impact to the 1981-82 budget for this purchase. Bid requests were mailed to 3 companies, one company makes 2 types of sweepers so we received 4 bids and they were as follows: Haaker Equipment Co. 3505 Pomona Blvd. Pomena, CA Ecolotec Vacu-sweep mod. 400 Unit Price Sales Tax Freight Total $80,918.00 4,855.08 1,500.00 $87,273.08 Crook Company 11250 Friestone Blvd. (Freeman Equipment Co.) Corporation bid for the model 2-12JD Sweeper is the low bidder by $2,538.?0 over the Crook Company bid for the Elgin Road Runner Sweeper of $7S,578.00. The city's latest model sweeper is a 1978 Model 12 F.M.C. and the 1970 Model we are replacing is also an F.M.C. sweeper. Our experience with their sweepers and their ser¥ice has been satis- factory. RECOMMENDATION: I recommend that F.M~i.C. Corporation bid for the M~del 12JD be accepted by the city and a purchase order in the amount of $?3,039.$0 be issued.
