RESOLUTION NO. 81-99, APPROVING APPLICATION FOR GRANT FUNDS UNDER THE
CALIFORNIA PARKLANDS ACT
RECOMMENDATION
Approve Resolution No. 81-99, authorizing staff to apply for funds under the
California Parklands Act.
BACKGROUND
The California Parklands Act of 1980 has been enacted by the people of
California; this legislation was supported by the Tustin City Council.
The attached Resolution authorizes staff to apply for subject grant funding;
the application deadline is September 15, 1981, for appropriation to the City
in the 1982/83 fiscal year. This interfaces nicely with our present timetable.
According to the priority plan of expenditure (as reco.m,ended by this Council
and adopted by the county), Tu~tin is eligible for $125,463 from the California
Parklands Act. It is staff's recommendation that these funds be applied towards
a multi-purpose recreation facility at Columbus Tustin Park. This facility is
included in the capital improvements plan.
