SUBJECT: TREE R~4DVALS-NOI~HEASTERLY COI%NER OF MAIN AND "C" STREETS
This is an informational report only. No action is necessary, unless the Council is
in disagreement with the developer's proposed actions.
The developers (Spirit Development) of the office building of the northeasterly
corner of Main and "C" Strccts have included the removal of two trccs within the
public right-of-way in their development plan.
One tree is a 48" diameter Eucalyptus tree located along "C" Street at the northerly
property line, which requires removal so that street improvements may be installed.
The second tree is a Laurel (fiscus) trcc approximately 10" in diameter on Main St.
This tree requires re~val to allow construction of a driveway for access to the
development. Staff will require that the developer attempt to relocate this Laurel
(fiscus) tree,if possible, or replace it with as large a tree as feasible to match
the existing tree.
There are two diseased California Pepper trccs also located along the Main Street
frontage of this development. It is staff's intention that these trees be removed
and replaced with Laurel (fiscus) trees at the time the Redevelopment Agency's E1
Camino Real/Main St. project is underway.
