PARKING PROHIBITIC~ VANDES~ER~ LANE
The question was raised as to why not restrict parking on both sides of Vandenberg
Lane on staggered days?
The present operation of street sweeping consists of five sweeping days with the City
being segregated into five separate areas. Ead~ of the areas is so designated that
the sweeping operation follows the refuse pickup date in most cases. If we were to
stagger sweeping days for various streets, they should be interd~angeable between two
adjacent areas. Staggering of one or two individual streets within an area w~uld
breakup the continuity of the sweeping operation.
In this particular area, along the northerly side of Vandenberg Lane, there does not
appear to be an excessive trash/debris problem within the gutter, but only on the
southerly side of Vandenberg Lane adjacent to the residences.
If a stagger sweeping program is to be initiated, the whole city should be considered
in lieu of one isolated street.
