MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY
COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD
IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN, ON TUES-
DAY EVENING JANUARY 3, 1950, AT 7:35 P.M.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN HUMESTON, CHARLETON, BACON AND GRAY.
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMAN MILLER.
CITY ATTORNEY: C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. was present
Mayor Humeston called the meeting to order at
7:35 P.M.
Minutes of the preceeding meeting were read and
approyed.
HARDWARE FOR
NEW CITY HALL Mr. W. R. Smirl was present and presented a Hard-
ware Catalogue, comprising various patterns, in
re the new City Hall which was inspected by the
Council. Councilman Bacon then moved that the
hardware be purchased, as approved by Architect
Russell; Seconded by Counciman Gray the motion
carried.
Mayor Humeston mentioned the matter of the pend-
ing lease for quarters of the Justice of the
peace, Constable and County Library in the new
City Hall. City Attorney Nisson stated that the
matter is now in the hands of the County Attorney
who will submit a simplified form of lease ac-
ceptable to the County.
The matter of hiring DeI BroomelI as Janitor for
the new City Hall on a proposed basis of 75cents per
hour up to $25.00 per month was discussed but no
action taken,
The matter of tree planting in the City'fs Park-
ing Areas was discussed by the Council and it was
suggested by Councilman Gray that a committee be
appointed consisting of Miss Heild, Councilman
Bacon and a member to be named from the Planning
McMULLEN RE- On motion by Councilman Gray, seconded by Council-
INSTATED ON man Charleton and duly carried, it was ordered
PAYROLL that Chief of Police Thomas McMullen be reinstated
on the city pay roll as of January 1, 1950.
Councilman Charleton stated that he would consult
with Street Superintendent McMullen regarding re-
pairs to the paving of B Street, between Main&
6th Sts., repairs to Second and Third Streets.,
also in regard to drainage for the North side of
Sixth Street West of B Street.
RESOLUTION Resolution No. 240 "Authorizing Change Orders,
NO. 240 numbered 12 through 29,in that Certain Agree-
ADOPTED ment for Construction of City Hall" was adopted
on motion of Councilman Gray, secondedby Council-
man Bacon and unanimously carried by rolI call vote.
CONTRACTOR An Agreement was presented and read to the Council
SALTER PAID by City Attorney Nisson instructing the City Clerk
$6,446.48 to issue a warrant payable to Contractor Sherman
E. Salter, in the mount of $6,446.48 as the
second and third payments on account of his con-
tract to build the new City Hall,

BILLS The following bills were presented, approved and
ordered paid on motion of Councilman Gray, with the
exception of a bill from Miller-Bryant-Pierce in
the sum of $2.78 which was ordered held over until
the next meeting. Seconded by CounciIman Bacon the
motion carried.

On motion of Councilman Charleton, seconded by
Councilman Bacon and duly carried the meeting was
adjourned.
