~TION:
That the Tustin City Council, at their meeting of August 17, 1981, award the bid
in the amount of $7,615.94 to Foothill Garden Equipment, Inc. of Orange for a John
Deere 2 cylinder diesel tractor equipped with a m~del 160 72" rotary mower.
BACKGROUND:
Bids were solicited for a tractor type mower to provide for the replacement of the
existing six year old unit which is worn out. This unit was budgeted ($7,950.00)
in the 1981-82 fiscal period and is to be purchased with equipment replacement
fund monies.
One bid was received frcm Foothill Garden Equipment, Inc. in the amount of
$7,615.94 for a John ~cre 2 cylinder diesel tractor equipped with a mgdel 160 72"
rotary mower. An informal quote was received from McCoy Ford Tractor in the
amount of $8,000 to $10,000. This price quote was for a cu,~arable unit, although
a larger tractor than what is nccded. It is a foreign made unit and is a four
wheel vehicle which is not necesary for our type of operation.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Monthly payments have been paid into the equipment leasing fund to finance this
replacement cost. There will be no new financial i~pact to the City other than
the equi~nt fund account.
