HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1949 10 19 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD ON OCTOBER 19, 1949. All the members of the City Council of the City of Tustin met at 145 West First Street, Tustin, California, at the hour of 8:40 P. M. o'ctock on the 19th day of October, 1949, and a Special Meeting of the City Council was held pursuant to written waiver of notice signed by each mem- ber of the City Council before said meeting and filed with C. Arthur Nisson, City Attorney and Deputy Ci/erk. Mayor Vincent L. Humeston informed the other members of the Council that Councilman William I. Miller, Chairman of the Building Committee, had discovered an error in the calculation of the total amount of the contract price for the construction and alterations and addition for the Tustin City Hall to be reduced from the base bid, and that it was necessary to reconsider the matter of the construction of the City Hall in the total amount which the City of Tustin would be able to expend for said project. City Auditor Hanson was contacted on the telephone for information and Contractor Sherman E. Salter was called in and general discussion was had concerning method of payment and total costs to the City after the authoriza- tion of certain change orders in the work which were to be specified by the Architect. On motion of Councilman Miller, seconded by Councilman Bacon, Resolution No. 236 was passed and adopted. City Attorney C. Arthur Nisson, Jr. was authorized to check the amount of fire insurance on the City Hall and to see that it was adequately covered against loss by fire.
