ELEC 08-03-81DATE: JULY 28, 1981 TO: 8 81 Inter Corn CHARLES THAYER, INTERIM CITY MANAGER FROM: BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC ~DRKS/CITY ENGINEER SUBJECT: EAST ORANGE COUNT~ ~4ATER DISTRICT (E.O.C.W.D.) ELECTION In November, 1981, the E.O.C.W.D. will be holding an election to replace certain Board of Director members whose terms of office have expired. Earl Rowenhorst is one of these members whose term expires in No~ember, 1981. Earl ran for this position in 1977 at the request of the owners of the Tustin Water Works. Tustin's water system makes up about one-half of the facilities and water useage in the E.O.C.W.D. It is my feeling that Tustin should continue to have this representation on the E.O.C.W.D. Board. This board position is purely voluntary and requires no additional salary to the member frc~either the City or the E.O.C.W.D. I strongly reccmmend that Earl RoweD_horst be requested to file his papers for re-election to the E.O.C.W.D. Board of Directors. It is further requested that the City Council review and confirm this matter, at their meeting on August 3, 1981, so that Earl can initiate pape~wo, rk after August 6, 1981, but prior to August 27, 1981.
