HomeMy WebLinkAboutSTAFF CONCERN 1 08-03-81THRU~ Charles Thayert Interim City Manager TO: Honorable Mayor and City Council FROM: Mary E. Wynn, City Clerk $~JECT: CHANGE OF FORMAT FOR AGENDAS RECOMMENDATION: Adopt the attached format for future agendas. BACKGROUND: At various Agency and Council meetings, the general public has not understood the procedure for the Plsn-ing Agency, Redevelopment Agency or City Council meetings. Attached is a new cover sheet along with agendas of the three meetings. This cover sheet incorporates the instructionsthat previously ware on the Council agenda. The Redevelopment Agency Agenda is separate from the Council Agenda. This will enable the Planning Agency to adjourn to the Redevelopment Agency, and then the Redevelopment Agency to adjourn to the City Council. All items scheduled for an evening meeting are listed under "7z30 P.M. Meeting' at the end of the afternoon agendas. This format should simplify and clarify our procedures. Mary E. Wynn City Clerk Council: The format developed by Ma~y Wynn is an outstanding presentation of information the public must have ~o understand how they can have input ti) . your meetings. It also places the respective agendas in their order of presentation plus calling out the evening portion of the agenda separate f=~. the afternoc~ session - although this format will use mor~ paper it will save t/me in correlatic~ due tD use of seandard paper vs legal size. Also please note the ~ition of "Budgeted item" on Consent Calendar %5. We plan to _c~__!l out budget vs "nc~-budget" expenditures bo assist council and the public audience. I rec~mend your approval.
