At the request of Councilwoman Kennedy, staff has reviewed the noise levels at the
Beneta Way water well site with the following findings:
1. The pump motors do emit a scmewhat loud sound on a continuous basis.
2. The present structure co. ring the pumping facility is a wood structure with
no sound insulation material.
3. The door of the st~cture is normally left open in the warmer weather to
dissipate the heat build-up frcm the motors.
It is suggested that an exhaust fan (estimated cost of $450.00) and insulation
(estimated cost of $100.00) be installed within the existing wood structure. These
applications should solve the noise problems to the adjoining properties.
Unless otherwise specified, staff will ~,,~en~e with the suggest3ed work after the
City Co~cil meeting of August 3, 1981.
