HomeMy WebLinkAboutRESO 81-93 08-03-81RESOLUTICN NO. 81-93 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 A RESOLUTICN OF THE CITY CCUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TJSTIN, CALIFORNIA, TO THE r,WAGUE OF CAr.TFORNIA CITIES RBGARDING The City Council of the City of Tustin hereby urges the League of 5 California Cities to support the following changes in the Workers' Gompen- sation Laws: 6 1. That Labor Code Section 4850 Benefits, providing full pay for 7 Sworn Safety Officers for up to one year, be reduced to tw~-thirds (2/3) pay for up to one year. That the presumption of injury statutes be reviewed and lim- ited to apply to only Sworn Safety personnel with a minim~ of five (5) years of service. 3. That any presumption of injury for hypertensio~ be eliminated. That Public Agencies be liable for providing Rehabilitation Benefits oovering only one (1) Rehabilitation Plan for each Public Safety Officer or General Employcc. Se That the Bmhabilitation Bureau work to eliminate costly delays in evaluation and assessment of applicants, setting of format conferences and issuing of decisions and orders and that there be a time requirement from filing date to settlement date. 6. That the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board work to eliminate delays in the setting of cases on the Court Calendar. That the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board eliminate costly delays in settlement of Workers' Compensation cases by setting mandatory settlement conference dates at least once each month.
