HomeMy WebLinkAboutRPT 2 DRAINAGE 10281 07-20-81DATE: TO: FROH: SUBJECT: JULY 13, 1981 REPORTS 7-20-81 NO. 2 CHARLES THAYER, INTERIM CI~f MAN~ER BOB LED~%]DECKER, DIRECTOR OF P[~;,IC W~)I~KS/CITY ENGINEER SECOND STREET DRAINAGE TRACT NO. 10281 The storm water drainage related to Tract 10281 has ~-cn reviewed as requested with the following findings: The site previous to the development of Tract No. 10281 historically drained in a sheetflow condition southerly to Second St. across the parcels fronting on Second St. and easterly along the northerly side of Second St. As a condition of development of Tract 10281 it was required that the drainage from this site be collected in a concrete drainage swale and transmitted to the northerly side of Second St. within an open concrete culvert within an easement. ® The centerline of Second Street between A St. and Pacific Street is approximately 0.3 ft. higher than the top curb along the northerly side of Second St. Consequently, any drainage entering Second St. from the concrete culvert built by Tract No. 10281 will be contained on the northerly side of Second St. Several months ago, Mr. A. Charlton complained of water standing in his drive apron at 460 W. Second St. and related it to the development of Tract 10281. This was not true. The standing water was caused by a low spot in his drive apron wherein the water frc~ the southerly side of Seoond St. would be trapped. It is my conclusion that the drainage frcm Tract 10281 will not impact Mr. Charlton's property any more than what the previously undeveloped site did.
