DISCUSSION
Mr. W. Daniel O'Connor has expressed interest in developing the
subject property with an office building. Since this property is
one of the sites considered for a downtown parking lot by the City,
the applicant has requested a review of the proposal.
The site plan indicates the layout of 16 tandem spaces for the
possible retail use of the first floor. Without the tandem spaces
there is sufficient parking for strictly general office use. These
tandem spaces would be reserved for the employees.
The specific plan for the area encourages the development of retail
commercial over strictly office uses. The applicant would like to
know the Redevelopment Agency's opinion of the development in
relation to the proposed parking lot plans for E1Camino Real Area
and the tandem parking space provision. The Engineering Department
has reco,m,ended against tandem parking.
