A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, CALIFORNIA
RELATING TO TEE CLASSIFICATION, COMPENSATION AND TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
OF MANAGEMENT OFFICERS OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN.
WHEREAS, City now desires to provide increases of salary and benefits to its
employees as a result of conferences wi~h the management officers of the
City and the subsequent reoomendations of the City Manager.
NOW, TEEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Tustin hereby resolves as
follows:
Section 1~ The classification, compensation and terms of employment for
non-management ~nployees of City are set forth by separate Resolutions of
the City Council and the provisions herein set forth shall not apply to
those employees.
Section 2: Manaqement Officers. Those employees holding the positions
identified in Section 3 are hereby designated as management officers for the
purpose of this resolution, notwithstanding the fact that additional manage-
ment officers exist and are subject to the terms of separate resolutions for
the purposes of classifications, compensation and terms of employment.
Section 3. CemDensation and Benefits Provisions. City will increase the
existing monthly salary ranges of all management officers by eight and one-
half percent (8.5%) to the monthly salary ranges enumerated by employee
posi=ion below, effectSve for the pay period beginning June 29, 1981.

Each such employee shall receive a salary at the step at which the ~loyee
is serving.
Section 4. ExemDt Positions. Ail Management Officers iScluded in the pro-
visions of this Resolution, are exAmpt Positions and are not entitled to
receive additional compensation for overtime hours worked unless specifi-
cally approved by City Council for a specific project. The monthly salary
shall be considered full compensation for all hours worked and no pay for
overtime will be considered for said employees; however, Administrative

Leave may be granted when approved by the City Manager for good and suffi-
cient cause. The City Manager shall have the authority to delegate this
authority to the Administrative Officers.
Section 5. Employee Life Insurance. The City will provide life insurance
on the life of each employee enumeratd in this Resolution, and pay the
premium thereof. The death benefit of said policy shall be one hundred per-
cent (100%) of the employee's base annual salary to the nearest multiple of
one thousand dollars ($1,000.00).
Section 6. Medical/Health Benefits. The City will make available a
medical/health benefit program for the benefit of regular permanent
employees covered by this Resolution and for their dependents, if any. The
City shall contribute to the funding of said program in the following
manner:
A. 100% of the contribution for coverage of each Management Officer.
B. 100% of the contribution for coverage of dependent's if any,of
each Management Officer.
Section 7. General Leave. The City will increase the General Leave accrual
rates from and after June 29, 1981 for all Management Officers, to the
following formula.
0-5 Years of Service -
5-10 Years of Service -
Over 10 Years of Service -
19 General Leave days per year
24 General Leave days per year
29 General Leave days per year
Full-time regular Mahagement Officers shall be entitled to one (1) addi-
tional day of general leave per year upon determination by the Department
Head of their satisfactory performance.
Section 8. Bereavement Leave. The City will allow up to 3 days with fay,
without accumulation, for the purpose of bereavement lev, for all Management
Officers in the event of a death in their immediate family. "Immediate
Family" shall be defined as spouse, mother, father, brother, sister, child,
grandparent, and grandchild of such employee or of the employee's spouse.
Section 9. Miscellaneous Provisions.
Avoidance of Inequities. The City Manager may authorize special
adjustments to avoid or eliminate inequities resulting from the
strict application of any provision of this Resolution.
Administrative Regulations. The City Manager is authorized to
issue written administrative personnel regulations designed to
augment or clarify the provisions of this Resolution.
Section 10. Effective Date. Unless otherwise specified to the contrary in
this Resolution, all provisions shall be effective as of June 29, 1981.
