DAN BLANKENSHIP, CITY ADMINISTRATOR
BOB LEDENDECKER, DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC WORKS/CITY ENGINEER
NEWPORT AVENUE MEDIAN LANDSCAPE CONTRACT
Attached is a written request from Grissom and Johnson, Inc. for
an extension of time of thirty (30) days to the subject contract.
To date, the contractor has worked in a diligent manner and has
coordinated his work well. Concurrently with this project we
have the traffic signal contractor working along Newport Avenue,
which tends to slow the landscape contractor's progress at times.
The requested 30-day time extension would revise the completion
date from May 3, 1981 to June 2, 1981.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Tustin City Council grant a thirty (30) day time
extension to the firm of Grissom and Johnson, Inc. for the
Newport Avenue median landscape contract.

Attention: Bob Ledendecker, Director of Public Works
Reference: Median Construrtion of Newport Boulevard
Gentlemen:
This is in regards to the Newport Boulevard median construction.
As you know we have only 90 calendar days to complete this job,
and we are trying to coordinate with our subs and maintain
traffic flow on Newport Boulevard. Grissom & Johnson, Inc. is
having difficulty in meeting this time schedule of May 3, 1981.
We would like an extension of 30 days to complete the work.
Ail that is left is for Edison to connect the services, then
Tracey will set his sprinkler controllers and lay the sod and
set the plants. We will do everything possible to complete the
job to your satisfaction.
Very truly yours,
Fred Johnson
