Honorable Mayor and C~ty Council ces,~
Royleen A. White, Director of Community Servi
TUSTIN CITY BUS
Per Council direction, staff investigated the potential value of the City Bus. The
company from which we purchased the bus is in need of one, and they have offered
us an excellent price.
The offer, whi,ch is attached, is for $14,000 -- close to double what the Maintenance
Division anticipated receiving for the bus. Due to the fact that this offer is only
good for seven days, staff is bringing this to Council for action as an added agenda
item May 18, 1981. Both the Maintenance Superintendent and the Finance Director
concur that the $14,000 offer is high enough to warrant this action.
The Maintenance Superintendent has stated that the $14,000 will be more than
adequate to purchase a suitable van for the Community Services Department.
RECOMMENDATION
1. To authorize staff to accept the attached offer from National Bus Sales and
Leasing Co., Inc., for sale of City Bus at the price of $14,000.
2. To authorize staff to purchase a van with the proceeds of this sale.
FINANCE DEPARTMENT CONCURRENCE:
I~pport the above recommendations.
