HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC MINUTES 1948 09 20 MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE CITY HALL OF TUSTIN ON MONDAY EVENING SEPT. 20th AT 70'CLOCK 1948 Present Were; CoUncilmen; Charleton, Humeston, Bacon ForneY and Miller Absent Were: Councilmen; None City Attorney Nisson and Engineer were present Mayor Charlemon called the meeting To order and as the first order of business asked Engineer McBride to give his report on the street work.McBride reported among other matters that there was a leak in the S.A.V.I. pipe lines at the intersection of A Street at Main street and after explaining the report City Atto- ney Nisson was instructed to notify the Water Company at Orange head quarters of the damage being done to the Street and request that it be taken care of. The Engineer also also reported the nui- sance that existed at first s~ree at B street whet wa~er stands withon$~draining and gave as a possible cost to correct it as bein~ from One hundred to one hundred and fifty dollars Councilman Humeston moved that work be done Couhcilman Bacon seconed the motion. The motion Carried. Urged that Mr. Redlin chairman of the ~afety Council of Tustin reported that Stop Signal a Committee from the Council had called on Assembleman Btandley be installed at his Balboa Office and found Mr Standley in favor of the Coun- at Tustin cil's reques~ for a Stop Signal on 101 Highway at Main Street in Ave. Tustin, and also was in favor of the 8ouncils request for one on First Street at Tustin Avenue(Highway 55) it was pointed out by the Committee that the latter was not in the City of Tustin tho they felt was a neede for safety and Mr. Standley promised to do all he could for the instilations and as soon as possible. Mr. Marker of the SignalOil Company made a proposation to the Council to furnish bulk Gas for the Cities nee and stated he would be glad to give cost of the Gas in Tank installing,but no action was taken in the matter pending further investigation. Police Chief talked on the Dog cituation and how it could be handled and Councilman Miller was requested to work with the Chief insolving the problum. Mayor Councilman Humeston moved that the Mayor be granted permission Request to to be absent and out of the State for the next meeting. be away Councilman Forney moved that the following Bills be paid and there was asecond to the motion and it unamiously carried.
