THE USUAL COUNCIL MEETING.AND T~ERE BEING NO OTHER COUNCILMEN PRESENT
AND NOT ~AVING CORPUS MAYOR CHARLETON ORDERED THE MEETING TO BE HELD
THURSDAY EVENING AUGUST 19,.1948, AT THE USUAL HOUR.
MINUTES OF THE ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE CITY OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE
CITY HALL OF TUSTIN ON THURSDAY EVENING AT 7:00 0'CLOCK P.M.
AUGUST 19, 1948.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: CHARLETON, FORNEY, AND HUMESTON
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: BACON AND MILLER
CITY ATTORNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON JR. WAS PRESENT
RESOLUTION RESO~u~0N 216, A RESOLUTION EMPLOYING A DEPUT~
#216 ADOPTED ASSESSOR FOR THE CITY OF TUSTIN WAS ADOPTED ON THE
.MOTION OF COUNCILMAN HUMESTON AND SECOND BY
COUNCILMAN FORNET.
TYPEWRITER THE MATTER OF PURCHASINGAA TYPEWRITER FOR THE P~LICE
PURCHASE DEPARTMENT BROUGHT UP BY CHIEF OF POLICE, MCMULLEN,
WAS MELD OVER TO BE BROUGHT UP AT T~E NEXT REGULAR
MEETING.
BOND ON THE MATTER OF BUYING BONDS WITH SURPLUS CASH BY
PURCHASES THE CITY IT WAS BROUGHT OUT AND EXPLAINED BY COUNCIL-
MAN HUMESTON THAT THERE WERE ONLY CERTAIN KINDS OF
BONDS CITIES COULD PURCHASE. THAT, TOO WAS PUT OVER
FOR FINAL DISPOSITION WHEN THE FULL COUNCIL WOULD BE
PRESENT.
FIRE DEPT. THE MAW0R SUGGESTED HAVING FIRE CHIEF KIDD, SECRE-
AND CITY TO TARY HANSON, AND AN~MEMBERS BE PRESENT AT SOME FUTURE
HAVE MEETING ~EETING TO CLARIFY COSTS FOR T~E COMING YEAR ON EX-
PENDITURE FOR THE FIRE DEPARTMENT AND ESPECIALLY THE
PERCENTAGE OF OUTSIDE COSTS AND THE COST TO THE CITY
FOR MAINTAINANCE OF OUTSIDE CALLS.
WORK ON THERE WAS CONSIDERABLE WORK DONE 0N THE BUDGET BUT
BUDGET THE FINAL ADOPTION WAS ALSO LEFT OVER WHEN ALL MEMBERS
OF THE COUNCIL WOULD BE PRESENT.
BILLS COUNCILMAN HUMESTON MOVED TO PAY THE FOLLOWING BILLS:
