MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF TUSTIN, HELD IN THE
CITY HALL OF TUSTIN ON MONDAY EVENING AT 6:20 P.M. JUNE 7, 1948.
PRESENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: CHARLETON, MILLER, HUMESTON, FORNEY & BACON.
ABSENT WERE: COUNCILMEN: NONE
CITY ATTONNEY C. ARTHUR NISSON, JR. WAS PRESENT.
THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF MAY 17TH WERE READ AND
ADOPTED ON THE ORDER OF THE MAYOR.
CONSOLIDATE FIRE CHIEF~ ~EROEE C. KIBD, REPORTED E MEETING TO BE HELD
FIRE AT THE ~USTINTHt~H~SCHOOL, FOR MONDAY, JUNE 1~, 19~8, 8:00
PROTECTION P.M. THIS MEETING, THE FIRE CHIEF EXPLAINED, IS AIMED
AT A CONSOLIDATED ESTABLISHMENT OF FIRE PROTECTION FOR
TUSTIN AND THE ADJACENT TERRITORIES PRESUMABLY FOR THE
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL DISTRICT. JOE 8HERMAN, FOR THE STA~E
FIRE WARDEN OF ORANGE WILL BEI~PHEBEN~ TO DISCUSS WITH
THE PEOPLE OF TUSTIN, AND THE PROPCSED FIRE BISTRICT,
THE ESTABLISHMENT OF ONE ADDI~TONAL TRUCK TO BE HOUSED
iIN THE FIRE HALL OF TUSTIN, AND THE POSSIBILITY OF BUYING
THE TUSTIN FIRE TRUCK WILL BEDISCUSB~D AND IN THIS ~ANNER
HAVE A REGULAR PAID FIRKHAN ON DUTY 24 HOURS A DAY. IT
IS THE INTENT IF THIS ORGANIZATION IS PERFECTED TO HAVE
A MUTUAL AID AGREEMENT EFFECTIVE FOR THE PROTECTION FOR
THE ENTIRE DISTRICT WITH THE CITY OF SANTA ANA, THE STATE,
AND THE COUNTY TO BE INCLUDED.
ORDINANCE ORDINANCE 74, REGULATING'THE USE OF PUBLIC HIGHWAYS WITHIN
?4 ADOPTED THE CITY,-WAS READ'BY TITLE ONLY. COUNCILMAN BACON MOVED
TO ADOPT THIS ORDINANCE. COUNCILMAN FORNEY SECOND THE
MOTION. MOTION CARRIED.
FIREWORKS AN APPLICATION BY LEIGH DUTTON WAS RECEIVED INQUIRING AS
APPLICATION TO THE POSSIBILITY OF SELLING FIREWORKS IN THE CITY. THE
lATTER WAS DISCUSSED BUT NO COM~ZITTAL ~AS MADE.
CORRESPON- A LETTER FROM THE DIVISION OF HIGHWAYS WAS RECEIVED UNDER
DENCE THE DATE OF MAY ~7, 1948. THIS LETTER WAS READ TO THE
COUNCIL STATING THAT A SURVEY WOULD BE MADE FOR THE TRAFFIC
SIGNAL AT MAIN AND lOi TO ASCERTAIN IF THERE IS SUFFICIENT
WARRANT FOR SUCH.
ASSESSMENT THE CLERK READ THE RESULTS OF THE ASSESSMENTS OF 1948-49
