According to Police Chief Thayer, the Tustin Police Department supports this legislation because it will help increase fuel and operating efficiency and will help to Faximize t~he use of our emergency vehicles. The possible negative aspect of this bill might be a resultant increase in air pollution, however, this amount would be ~l~nimal due to cn!y 13/100 of one percent (.0013} of California's registered vehicles being ~_~acted. The bill was passed by tine Senate Finance Coninittee on Monday, March 23, 1981, and has Doon passod on to t2ne Senate floor. It is not known when it will be actc~t upon. It is reprehended that Lhe Tustin City Council support SB 65 by passing the attached resolution whi~. will be sent to our legiSlators for their action.
