ROBERTI-ZIBERG URBAN OPEN SPACE AND RECREATION PROGRAM
Subject Resolution is attached for Council approval and is the same basic
Resolution as Council has approved in previous years. This is the fifth year
of funding under the Roberti-Z'Berg Urban Open Space and Recreation Program, and

Although the grant guidelines specify that the City has up to three years in which
to spend the money from the time it's received, the application must be sent to
Sacramento before the end of April in order to meet the deadline.
There are capital impre~e~ents projected for fiscal year 81/82 which could be
covered in part by tnese ~u~ds. It is staff's recommendation that these Block
Grant Fun~s be used for additional improvements to Peppertree Park including
installation of a fitness-trail course and additional play apparatus. A second
alternativ~ would be ts ~iiize the funds for improvements to Centennial Park,
